Beneath Detroit is an ongoing survey of the often neglected or overlooked artistic history of the city itself.
Starting with a three CD series of jazz recordings from The Detroit Institute of Arts in 1979, then moving to a six hour Blu-Ray release of the Super-8 films of Joseph Bernard, this project aims to unearth and expose a seemingly endless and rich body of work made far from America’s cultural centers. Created by Jeffery Plansker and sold on Amazon, the series can be found in greater depth at
Beneath Detroit.
