Don Draper meets Don Van Vliet.

Jeffery Plansker is an artist immersed in the visual vernacular of graphic design and advertising.

Born into the business of a Creative Director “Mad Man” father of the 1960’s, Jeffery became a director of commercials and music videos in the mid 1980’s.

Clients over the last 40 years have extended from Range Rover to Radiohead and Sony to Soundgarden.

In tandem with his work in ads, he has maintained an art practice that reshuffles and canibalizes the form of advertising itself – Subvertising

Since 2014 Plansker has maintained the monthly jazz radio program Jazz Advance at dublab.com.

He is also editor of the Substack newsletter Brilliant Corners, founder of the retail store The Bloke and creator of the music and film survey

Beneath Detroit.
